The Sax Doctor – My very first attempt at drawing cartoon saxophones characters, you can tell that the style isn’t quite figured-out yet. In the following collection of cartoons, I have created an imaginary world, an attempt to illustrate how it could be like if saxophones were like people, if reeds could talk, if

The Sax Doctor The Jam Session (1)

The Jam Session (1) – Like many people, I didn’t know how Runyon was pronounced until my friend Paul Coats, Runyon Products consultant and Sax on the web columnist told me it rhymed with “Onion”…and then this cartoon was born. It has been at the Runyon Products website for a while.

New Gear – Saxophonists can be very picky, constantly criticizing everything and never satisfied with their equipment… what if your saxophone could decide, would it choose to keep you or dump you?

New Gear Moving

Moving – In March 2003, Sax On The Web changed its forum template. I gave this cartoon to Harri (forum owner) and he posted it on the old forum, linking it to redirect SOTW users to the new forum location.

Congratulations! – Another “gift illustration”, this time to Saxpics, ex-moderator of SOTW forum and creator of the impressive and very informative   Vintage Saxophone Gallery website (check it out!) when he announced that he and his wife were expecting a baby.

Congratulations! In Memoriam

In Memoriam – Available on the web for the first time ever, this illustration was sent to only a few close friends of Mr. Santy Runyon after he passed away in April 2003.

Reed Drilling?? – I have been wanting for a long time to draw this one but I was having a hard time finding a clever/funny idea to illustrate Bootman’s Reed Drilling Process. Finally I’ve come-up with an idea! I been told that this cartoon is by far the best one I have done.

Reed Drilling?? The Unicorn Conspiracy

The Unicorn Conspiracy – The SG saxophone model from Unison raised many issues. After months of waiting, some people claim to not have receive their sax. Some started saying it is a myth and called the saxes: “Unicorns”. Others suggested conspiracy theories...  here is MY conspiracy theory.

The Sax Troll – Unicorns... now trolls! In the imaginary world of mythical creatures, here is what would happen if trolls played saxophone.

The Sax Troll Jam Session (2)

Jam Session (2) – Mr. Charlie A, known for his Gig Dust, a formula to stop sticky saxophone pads designed a mouthpiece which he called: “BBQ”! This has given me the idea to re-use an old cartoon (see: jamsession1) to illustrate what might happen if someone is invited to a jam session and told: “Bring your BBQ”

Sax Chick – To the famous question: “Do sax players get more chicks? Well, even in the saxophone world, there are things that don’t change.

Sax Chick Meow Meow – A first attempt at Flash animation. You need  Flash Player to view. It may take a while to download but the preloader is cool :))

Kim's New Sax A "cartoonistic" autoportrait and an excuse to show-off my new baritone sax ;)

Mach6 Enhancer from a saxophone's perspective

The Mach6 neck enhancer from a saxophone's perspective FYI the Mach6 neck enhancer is a device that looks like the metal end of a garden hose - When inserted in the mouthpiece shank, it increase volume, projection, even out the timbre and decrease resistance. You can buy a Mach6 neck enhancer for 100$ US exclusively at Saxgourmet
